Published shortly after the tournament wound
up, this book is Team Canada's head coach Harry Sinden's diary through
training camp and the entire series. It is an incredible chance to look
into the series from the eyes of a key participant as the entire
tournament unfolded, rather than a retrospective commentary from many
years later.

Jack Ludwig's book is a scathing look at Team Canada 1972, however he tends to go to the extreme to prove his point, thus ruining an interesting project. The most entertaining part of the book is the political cartoons by Montreal legend Aislin. That alone makes the book worthy of a look through at your local library. Published:
McLelland and Stewart 1972 Note: The book was apparently republished at later dates by Doubleday under the titles "The Great Hockey Thaw" and "The Russians Are Here." |

Written
by Gilles Terroux and featuring photography of Denis Brodeur (yes, he's
the guy who took the famous photo of Henderson celebrating the winning
goal). This book was printed in both French and English, although is
predominantly a photo essay.

This 1973 book takes a look at the life of Paul Henderson (up to that point anyways). It is an okay read, but aged. There are newer books which cover the same material plus much of Henderson's life in the years since. | 3/5 |
